Harry Potter is a popular series of books written by author J.K. Rowling. The series spans seven books (one for each of Harry's years at Hogwarts). The first five books have also been made into movies by Warner Bros. Pictures, while the last two movies are in the works.

The books are based on the story of a young wizard called Harry Potter and his journey through Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The stories tell of him overcoming dangerous obstacles to defeat the evil Lord Voldemort who killed his parents when Harry was only one year old. The first Harry Potter book was published in 1997 by Bloomsbury in London. The last book alone sold more than 12 million copies in the U.S. Over 10 years J.K Rowling created an empire and conquered the minds of children and adults alike. She encouraged children to read and enjoy reading. Rowling let the minds of people flow with her words. She created a legendary set of books that will be loved and enjoyed forever.
