- August 14, 2008: The release date for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince film has been pushed back by over seven months (from November 2008 to July 17, 2009). Reasons cited included that the "summer season is an ideal window" for release and that Warner Bros. is "still feeling the repercussions of the writers' strike."[1]
- July 31, 2008: The Tales of Beedle the Bard will be released on December 4, 2008, with the proceeds going to charity. [2]
- July 29, 2008: The first full Half-Blood Prince movie trailer is out! You can view it here.
- June 11, 2008: The Harry Potter Prequel story written by J.K. Rowling is available to view on-line at Waterstone's website.[3]
- May 29, 2008: J.K. Rowling has penned an 800 word prequel to the Harry Potter series for charity auction. The story will be set three years before the birth of Harry Potter, and will focus on the Marauders.
